March in Antigua typically brings warm, sunny days and mild evenings, with little chance of rain. A light layer is recommended for cooler nights, along with comfortable shoes for exploring the cobblestone streets or going on a hike.
The Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ or Q) is both the local currency and the national bird. 1 USD ≈ 8Q, U.S. Dollars are widely accepted. Most places in Antigua take Visa, but cash is essential for tuk tuks, tips, and markets. Bring small bills in both USD and Quetzales. Quetzales can also be withdrawn from ATMs at national banks.
