Our Story

Lindsey’s POV

In September of 2018 I was managing at Del Frisco’s Grille in Houston, and we unfortunately closed. My regional manager called me, and told me the closest position they had available for me was at the Dallas location. I was scared of moving so far away from family and all of my friends for the first time, but I was also excited to experience a new city! I got moved in later in the month, and started at the Dallas location in October. Starting at a new restaurant is hard, and of course my first week I already had to write up a server for calling in.. Chris Smith. We officially met a few days later, when our first interaction was me giving him his write up to sign. Anyone who knows me.. I immediately wasn’t a fan. As the weeks went on, I was getting more acquainted with the staff, and Chris Smith started to grow on me. He was a hard worker, always showed up early (if he wasn’t calling in lol), and honestly pretty funny. His tables loved him and he was always trying to go above and beyond for them. We started talking more and more at work, and became friends. Mostly we talked about work, but as time went on we started taking more about our lives. We talked about the future and what we each wanted for ourselves. We were both in relationships with other people at the time, but realized we wanted a lot of the same things. Time went on and our friendship grew, until we were both eventually single. We would still only see each other at work, but Chris would always tell me, “I’ll see you at home later” when he left. Which would always be met with a smirk and eye roll by me, because I knew that would never happen. (We laugh about that now!) We had gone out a few times with people from work, and we soon realized how much fun we had together. We just got closer and closer with each passing day, so he left Del Frisco’s and we officially started dating in March 2019! We had so much fun with each other going on longboard dates on the Katy Trail, and staying up late watching movies and shows together. After a couple months we drove down for my moms birthday and he got to meet my family, and then I got to meet Aric! Chris already had me smitten, so Aric was just icing on the cake. We got Aric his own longboard and we would go the park all together, and Aric and I lived at the pool for the summer. In September 2019, we had just celebrated Aric’s 9th birthday, our 6 months of dating, and found out I was pregnant. Little did we know it was twins. We had decided to move back to my hometown after we found out about it being twins, so we would come down once a month to see the doctor that would deliver them. In February my mom had invited us to celebrate Valentine’s Day early with her and my dad while we were in town. My dad ended up not being able to come since he was out of town for work. My mom asked if we should still go the three of us, or if I wanted it to just be Chris and I. Of course I wanted her to come, and so we drive down for dinner, get ready at their house, and we are headed to the restaurant. They both tried convincing me to take off my big coat, but I kept saying we should just wait until we sit down.. and they bring us to the private dining room my mom had decorated with beautiful flowers, and our photographer friend Amie. As soon as I saw the room I knew, but it was a COMPLETE surprise! Chris asked me to marry him, and I of course said yes! We finished out our lease in Dallas, and then moved to Montgomery in March 2020. The twins arrived two months later and that’s how we became Smith to the Fifth! I love this life we have built together and I’m so excited to share a last name with my favorite person and the little humans we made. Christopher Bradley, I truly love our story, and cannot wait to officially be your wife 🤍

Our Story

Chris’s POV

I started working at Del Frisco’s Grille as a sever a few months before Lindsey transferred to the store. During my time there, I had become more social and started to engage in making “work friends” because before this I was either a restaurant manager or a tradesman. I never really got to enjoy the restaurant life. Also, having Aric at a very young age I had to be more responsible, I didn’t get to enjoy late nights out with friends (not that I wanted to) but it was nice working at Dels and having the chance to make friends. Anyways, as Lindsey stated, we may not have seen eye to eye in the beginning but it was always something I liked about her. She is very straight forward and didn’t tolerate my rebellion at work. However, I respected her and her position in the restaurant, but it wouldn’t stop me from pursuing what turned out to be the greatest decision of my life. As we got to understand each other and get to know one another, I started to fall in love with her. She had become a good friend to me, someone I confided with about my past, and someone I trusted. We would go out to our favorite places to eat (crawfish and Mexican food), go long boarding, laugh and just genuinely enjoying each others company. Now, that we were dating officially I left Dels, and it was time for her to meet Aric. It was love at first site, seeing her adapt to having him around was just so natural to her. Aric felt so comfortable around her and watching the two of them become best friends just showed me being a mother comes easy to her. Sure enough, half a year goes by and we find out we are having twins. Mind you, we both wanted more kids in the future, but two at once as we are in a new relationship is stressful just thinking about it. Lindsey quickly turned into being the greatest step mom to being the greatest mother to 3 children. I now have everything I’ve ever wanted thanks to her. We make the best team and I’m looking forward to watching us all grow and enjoy our lives by each others side.
