Question

What will the wedding weekend look like?

Answer

Friday: For those staying on site at the venue, check-in time is at 3pm. The rehearsal dinner will be from 6-7:30pm for close friends and family, followed by a fire pit gathering at 8pm that is open to all. Saturday: There will be a pancake brunch starting at 11am for anyone interested in coming up early to the venue (or anyone staying overnight). From 12-4pm everyone is welcome explore the Santa Cruz area and/or enjoy the beautiful setting and play lawn games. The ceremony will start at 4pm followed by a cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30. The reception will run from 5:30-10 with dinner, music, and dancing. At 10pm we will move to the fire pit until the end of the night. Sunday: There will be a farewell brunch from 10-11am for those staying at the venue. Checkout of the venue is at 12pm.

When/where can I RSVP?

Answer

RSVPs are right here on the website. Please expect to RSVP at least a month in advance to help us get a final headcount.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" or your partner's name, then you are welcome to bring someone with you! If your invitation says "Family," your whole immediate family is invited. Otherwise we'd prefer if it's just you.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your invitation says "Family" your whole immediate family, including kids, is invited. Otherwise we would prefer to keep the celebration 16 and up. If it is important to you to bring your kids, please reach out to us.

What will the weather be like in Santa Cruz in October?

Answer

October is actually the warmest month of the year in the Santa Cruz mountains. Expect low 70s during the day and high 50s at night.

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking at the venue for guests staying overnight or coming for the day for wedding events.

What if I don't want to rent a car?

Answer

There will be a shuttle to and from the ceremony! Please check out the 'travel' page for more details. If you're coming up to the venue for the whole weekend or you want to share a ride from the airport, please text Melissa or David and let us know! We'd love to connect people who are arriving on similar flights and help you save on rental car costs as much as possible.

Will the other guests be vaccinated against COVID?

Answer

Out of concern for the safety of our guests, we’re asking everyone attending to be fully vaccinated and boosted with any booster doses you are eligible for by July 2022.

Anything else I should know?

Answer

The wedding venue has the following policy that we think is wonderful: According to Tibetan Buddhist tradition, we have established the following rules for all guests of the Facility and Foundation. Misconduct in any of the following areas is grounds for which you may be asked to leave the property: Smoking of any kind; Abuse of non-medicinal drugs; Use or threat of physical violence; Sexual harassment, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or any other protected status; Stealing; Intentional killing of animals, birds or insects.
