It all started when I met Jessica. She became a close friend of mine from college and we would go out dancing on the weekends. One night, we went to Electric Cowboy and I met her friend Jonathan. He was very attractive, but I wasn’t looking for a relationship so I didn’t pay him much mind. We were all hanging out near the bar when “Señorita” started playing. Jess and I started dancing and I, not realizing how close I was, basically started dancing on Jonathan 😅. I know he took me out on the dance floor at some point, but I couldn’t tell you if that was before or after! We went out a few times after that and then on his very last dirt bike race of the year (11/24/2019), he asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast track to 4 years later and here we are engaged and getting married!

After a difficult and emotional week, Jonathan took me out to Dakota’s Steakhouse for a nice dinner. We pulled up to the valet where there was a red carpet entrance to an elevator that took us underground to the restaurant where there was a beautiful waterfall outside. We had a nice, romantic corner booth and a wonderful waitress taking care of us. The food was absolutely delicious (especially those crab lollipops)! While the waitress was boxing up our food, I asked about getting some dessert. Throughout the whole dinner, our waitress was very attentive and always quick to be back, however, this time she was taking a long time. One of the waiters started walking over to our table and put down a plate with a cheesecake on it. Even though I was thinking “you’ve got the wrong table dude,” I wasn’t going to say anything. We hadn’t even had a chance to look at the dessert menu yet and I wanted that cheesecake! Then, our waitress comes over and puts a plate down in front of me and Jonathan starts getting up. I’m so confused. I never even look at my plate. He comes over to me and I’m like “what are you doing?” He says “look” and I’m like “what?” He again says “look” while making a gesture with his head towards my plate. I look down and on my plate, there is a strawberry filled chocolate cupcake and in chocolate syrup, the words “Will you marry me?” In my head I’m like “ oh my goodness, it’s happening. It’s actually happening.” I’m admiring the plate and feeling so blessed, and then I stare at him while he’s holding out the most beautiful ring in front of me. I’m smiling and tearing up. I guess I hadn’t yet voiced my answer so Jonathan goes “ well, will ya!?” 😂 It was the most perfect response and the most perfect night! And…of course I said YES!!! We are so blessed to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
