If ever there was an unconventional love story, it would be ours, but to tell it is to tell of the goodness of God. Although we went to High School together, it wasn't until 2016 the two of us became friends. From 2016 - 2021 our friendship would grow through snail mail - a lost art, if you ask me. In those 5 years we grew to know each others stories, histories, goals and dreams. I (Ashley) tended to overshare and under-respond while Andrew came in strong with tough love and consistent prayer day one. Early 2021, we began to talk on the phone and on April 20th, both decided we were going to stop running from what the Lord was calling us into. We like to joke that while Andrew was praying for his wife and a Christ-centered relationship for me, he was doubling up for the both of us. When he first shared he felt the Lord impress on his heart that wife was me, I told him "He's going to have to tell me that for himself!" And, well, here we are. Through the most unlikely of means, He was saving us for one another. With 200+ miles and many unique obstacles between us, we have not only made it work but we have abundantly succeeded at creating something beautiful. Our testimony is one for the ages. If you know us, you know God has done a great work in both of our lives as individuals and as a couple - and it's only just beginning. If you don't know us, stick around long enough and you will grow to know the same. We are so excited to change my last name and continue to grow in what the Lord has created for us along side you. They say it takes a village and the gratitude we have for ours is out of this world. Friday, February 17th, at our home church we will say "I do" surrounded by a small circle of our closest friends and family. For those that aren't able to attend - we will miss you and know you are here in spirit and can't wait to celebrate with a reception at a later date with our extended friends and family! Thank you for visiting our page, loving us, encouraging us, praying for us, standing with us and supporting us and our love for each other. Our hearts are truly overflowing with gratitude. Love, Andrew and Ashley
