We’re getting married!

Patrick and Emily went to middle school and high school together, but never really crossed paths. It wasn’t until 2013 when they were both graduated from high school, Patrick got a job as a delivery driver at the same pizza restaurant that Emily would work at as a waitress on weekends while attending college. Working late shifts every weekend brought them together, and their friendship quickly evolved into romance. Two years later, Patrick and Emily move to Topeka to start their lives together with Patrick attending Washburn University to pursue his degree in environmental biology, while Emily works at U.S. Bank as a teller to support them.

One chilly, windy day while vacationing in Mount Desert Island, Maine, Patrick took Emily on a long winding drive to the top of the tallest mountain on the island. Once they reached the top, Patrick led Emily to the summit of the mountain as his Aunt Patricia stealthily prepared to record the moment. After posing for a picture Patrick dropped to one knee and told her that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and asked if she’d honor him with her hand in marriage. She said YES! 😊
