We met freshman year in World History at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, where we sat across from each other and barely spoke at first—until one day, Cam decided to shoot his shot and messaged Olivia on Facebook (which, at the time, was the ultimate romantic gesture). A few messages later, we met up at a high school football game with our best friends, Mariah and Joe. Cam said, “We should hang out sometime,” and Olivia, playing it cool, said, “Maybe, we’ll see.” What Cam didn’t know was that Olivia had already told Mariah she was hoping for a kiss that night. Later that school year, Cam came to Olivia’s Halloween party, but before even walking in, he stopped to introduce himself to her parents, Rob and Carol. That same night, he asked her to be his girlfriend—during which Carol interrupted because she was stressed out about the dozens of teenagers being way too loud in their house. Then it was Olivia's turn to meet Cam’s parents, David and Gina. The full story of that visit is... classified. Let’s just say Olivia had a very memorable and mildly embarrassing experience. She refuses to put it in writing, but just know that you’ll probably hear about it at the wedding. Not long after, we found out that our dads had actually gone to the same high school and even played hockey in the same circles. Small world, right? We dated through most of high school, junior and senior prom included, with all of the embarrassing photos to prove it. Even when we went to different colleges, we never really drifted apart. Our paths always seemed to find their way back to each other. After college, Olivia started grad school, and Cam jumped into his first finance job. When Olivia got a job offer in Providence, she made it her mission to bring Cam with her—and it worked. We’ve been living in a tiny, wall-less studio in downtown Providence for four years now. If we can survive living in a 400-square-foot apartment together for this long, our relationship can handle anything. One April morning, we picked up our favorite coffee at the Nitro Bar and headed to Point Judith to hang out on the beach... where Cam ended up proposing! Later that day, he surprised Olivia with a celebration full of her best friends and our families. It was perfect. And now, almost 14 years since that World History class, we’re getting married! We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. From awkward high school Facebook messages to building a life side by side, we love our love story—and we appreciate your love for us, too. ♡
