How We Met

Long story short

In 2010, Kyle, a senior, befriended Sara, a sophomore, one day in gym class. They made the most out of boring fitness walking class and became close, even going on a couple dates. Kyle eventually went off to college and they kept in touch for a while before trailing off. Many years later, in 2016, Kyle sent Sara a facebook message "hello" after seeing her post a picture out to a wine event with her friend. They got to talking and made plans to meet up at a local coffee shop. Kyle ordered 5 shots of espresso in his drink and Sara has never seen him drink coffee since. Since then, they talked all the time and made things official finally in 2017 after a trip to Six Flags together. Throughout their years together, they have had many adventures. They worked all night and then hopped on a plane to Miami for a week after deciding on the trip the afternoon before. They volunteered to drive their best friend from NJ to LA and made it there in 46 hours. They worked all night and then drove through the night to Ocean City, MD to drive at 7am on the beach in Kyle's Jeep. Then one day, in 2021, Sara asked if they could plan a trip to get away for a weekend to NYC. They booked the hotel and made their plans and Sara thought it was all her idea. That is, until Kyle pulled her over for a picture in Central Park after Sara had just got done showing him around. Sara saw people peeking out from a tree ahead and then turned to Kyle with one knee on the ground. (The night before Sara claimed she would see him proposing a mile away - she in fact did not). She, of course, said yes. Kyle not only surprised her with their good friends being the ones taking pictures and videos of the proposal (dressed up in disguises), but also with getting to spend the rest of the day with them for lunch and dinner. Kyle led the group to a rooftop restaurant for dinner and when Sara got to the roof, she was surprised again with many of her closest friends waiting to celebrate with them. Then Kyle surprised her AGAIN with their friends all coming to celebrate with a party set up by his parents and her parents. It was the best weekend ever. Kyle and Sara have spent engagement eager to plan their wedding and share a day with everyone they love just having the best time. They knew they wanted October 2023 and when they realized they could have Friday the 13th, they jumped on it. They love all things spooky, but 13 is also considered to be a lucky number in many places. Kyle and Sara are getting married 13 years after first meeting each other and they can't wait to share this special day.
