Best friend extraordinaire, Kat and Emily met at a UAH Reformed University Fellowship meetup at Steak ‘n’ Shake in February of 2011 and quickly bonded after realizing they had a lot in common—namely nerdy pursuits and broken hearts. Shortly after Kat and Emily became roommates as well as sorority sisters in Alpha Omicron Pi together, forging a crazy strong friendship full of laughter, fun times and crazy stories. Supporting each other through many major life events, the highs and the lows, seven years later their friendship is still going stronger than ever. Fiery, smart, and loyal to a fault, Kat attests that Josh is the only man Emily’s ever dated that she wholeheartedly approves of!

Mary Robinson

Co-MOH and affectionately known as Sister Wife, Mary has basically been adopted into our relationship as part of the family. Generous, kind, and one of the few friends in life with a relaxing presence that can just walk into your house and stay hours binge-watching TV without overstaying their welcome, Mary has been a fixture of our relationship since just about the very beginning. Mary and Emily met in college at UAH’s fall 2011 sorority rush when Emily was a Gamma Chi recruitment councilor. Mary’s phone went off during an event with the TARDIS noise as her ringtone, and Emily knew exactly what that meant—a fellow geek!! Bonding over all things geeky and proud, Emily and Mary became sisters in AOII and have been the best of friends ever since!

Kacey Mast

Emily and Kacey met back in 2001 while playing on the same softball team, and became fast friends when Kacey invited Emily over to her house after practice to play Neopets. Kacey is witness to numerous fun and embarrassing moments in Emily’s early life, ranging from the love affair with Neopets that lasted almost all the way through high school to first encounters with boys to the very first watch through of Fellowship of the Ring that opened up a whole new genre to fall in love with and get lost in. 17 years later and Emily is so happy to have one of her oldest friends next to her as she says I Do to Josh!

Miriam Neergaard

Miriam (aka Merm) and Emily have known each other since 5th grade Sunday School and been very close friends since high school. Fiercely loyal, fun loving and always down for an adventure—from rock climbing in Colorado to running around New Orleans for NYE to axe throwing in Huntsville—some of the best memories in Emily’s life involve Miriam in some way! Though she lives in Tallahassee FL now living her dream, when Emily and Miriam reunite it’s like no time has passed. And now Emily can’t wait to have Miriam by her side as she embarks on the next big adventure with Josh!

Rebecca Renfroe

Friends since 2015, Rebecca is the newest friend among Emily’s bridesmaids but the last three years have felt so much longer by all the memories made during that time. We met Rebecca and Andrew at Splashcon 2015, a swimsuit costume event we put on, and we all became close friends ever since. An artist with a huge heart for social issues and a loyal friend, Rebecca has been an invaluable presence in our lives, from opening up her home to us to host parties to always being ready to lend a hand or ear if we need one. We are so grateful to have her beside us during this special day!
