Let me start by saying that Cody and I had known each other on an acquaintance level for a few years prior to beginning our relationship. It was merely a friend of a friend association that occasionally put us at tailgates, pool parties, lake trips and other casual functions together. Our usual interaction was friendly but on an impersonal level because we weren't close. At that point we didn't even have each other's contact information. Everything changed for the best the summer of 2015! I had just finished my first year teaching 6th Grade English in Denver City, and I had recently moved to Lubbock for the summer. I moved in with Jessica Brown (bridesmaid), who is the link between Cody and myself. Jessica is good friends with Debbie McElroy, the wife of Rudy McElroy (groomsman) one of Cody's closest high school friends! Our group of friends had hung out at the pool several times when Cody and I began flirting and showing mutual interest in one another leading up to a group trip to Possum Kingdom Lake. Everyone had a blast at the lake, but the best thing that happened was that Cody and I exchanged information as well as made plans to get lunch which fell through, but that fail led to the official "you owe me a date" text, and the story is history from there. On our first date we went to the drive in movie theater where we watched Spy and Ted 2. Our dates continued from there. We went to dinners, watched movies, and went on our favorite date, Trapped. As the summer ended I felt as though it was best that our relationship came to an end due to the fact that I was moving back to Denver City. Cody and I continued to talk through text messages, and we would meet up now and then when I came to Lubbock. On Saturday, September 26, 2015, after the TCU vs. Tech game we decided to make it official and try a long distance relationship. Soon after we went to ACL together and during that trip our love for one another really started to grow. We have been together ever since.

Our wedding will be at our friends parents house which is actually a venue called Gurss Barn! Our colors are navy, grey, and a variety of pinks. I want a vintage/rustic feel with romantic details. We will use lace, antique furniture, tea cups, succulents, pearls and peonies.
