The ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner will be indoors. The reception will be outdoors on the 2nd floor balcony of the venue.
Yes! Our requested attire theme is: "Pop out! Bring on the fabulous." Semi-formal attire with sparkles, patterns, embellishments and vibrant colors are encouraged. This will be an adults-only event, so we kindly ask no children. Plus-ones listed on the invitation are happily invited to join the celebration.
Doors will be open between 3:30 and 3:55pm. Please arrive early as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm.
The venue, High 5ive Rooftop Bar, does not have designated parking, however, valet parking is available at the Kissel Uptown Oakland hotel for $35 per vehicle. Inform the attendant that you are part of the "Smith-Essex Wedding" group when you arrive. Limited public street parking on 25th Street may also be available and rideshare drop-off/pickup is also recommended.
Kissel Uptown Oakland (2455 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612) will be the bride and groom's "home base" for the wedding weekend. If you'd like to stay there as well, we will have a room block that gives our guests a discount on nightly rates. Details to come soon on how to book!
