How We Met

Charlie's Rule

Andy went to St. Stephens High School and played the Tuba, and Caroline from Newton-Conover played the Saxophone. Andy and Caroline both played in the All-County Band and knew of each other in High School, not thinking much of it. Andy and Charlie (Caroline's Brother) became friends and fraternity brothers at Appalachian State University. Eventually, Caroline came to App State as well. Of course, Charlie being the older brother gave everyone the rule that no one should even think about talking to his sister... Well, Charlie decided to go on tour with his band [REDACTED] and was not there to enforce said rule. From there, Andy and Caroline have been together and supporting each other despite Andy breaking Charlie's one rule.

The Proposal

6.3.24

We planned a beach trip with some of our friends originally so that one of them could propose. However, they were too excited to wait and decided he would do it earlier. This opened the door for Andy to propose on the beach on a foggy day in Virginia. We took a morning beach walk with friends. As Andy and Caroline strolled, Andy started to pick up pretty rocks and shells to show Caroline, until eventually he got on his knee and showed Caroline the rock that would symbolize their unity. This moment was made more special, as they spent the 6 months prior over four hundred and twenty miles apart while Caroline was doing her internship.
