It all started with mutual friends huge shout out to Drennan, Stephanie, and Madi! In early 2023 I had my friend Stephanie reach out to Hunter and put a bug in his ear that I wanted to meet him. My time to shine came unexpectedly when I was at brunch with some of my girlfriends. Our mutual friend Drennan texted me saying he was at her house. My girlfriends and I didn’t waste a second — we left brunch early and headed straight over to Drennan’s, so I could finally introduce myself and make him feel completely uncomfortable :) I walked in, and said Hey Hunter Bull, I’m Kayla Smith… and he didn’t say a single word back. Not one. I think he may have given me a friendly wave of his hand indicating he heard me. A few months later, at another mutual friend’s wedding, I introduced myself to his mom and told her that I was going to be her future daughter-in-law. Two weeks after that conversation, he finally asked me on a date. He let me pick and we went to Mexican (later learning he hates Mexican food). It took a “few” months (about 12 to be exact) for him to tell me we were now in a committed relationship- the rest was history. Now we’re engaged and getting ready for our wedding! I’m so glad our friends helped bring us together. And now, we can’t wait to start the next chapter as husband and wife.
