Dana, hair the color of fields(!), grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and studied history and art history at Grinnell College. She moved to Boston to get a library science degree at Simmons College and works as the Instruction Librarian for the Boston Architectural College. Jon, handsome as the granite of his home, hails from Manchester, New Hampshire! He moved to Boston to study philosophy at Emmanuel College (right next to Simmons!) and works as the Assistant Manager of the Trade Department for the Harvard COOP, the Harvard University Bookstore.

We met at our friend Shannon's potluck in 2017. After paging through a book about cats together and trying to impress the other with our "Professional Book Person" knowledge of publishing imprints and copyright pages, we each proceeded to actively avoid the other and have a conspicuously good time with everyone ELSE at the party in order to look social and not seem obvious - but used party games as an excuse to interact across the room. After some kitchen lingering and quick exits, we ​~just happened~ ​to leave the party at the same time. We exchanged numbers and have been together ever since!

We had our first date at Brighton Cafe - a local diner that was equidistant from our apartments at the time. We've continued to visit the diner throughout the years and try to go every week. They recently changed the menu from the kind in the faux leather book to a laminated landscape-oriented paper sheet!! We've saved breakfast receipts throughout various price increases, which we keep in our Christmas cookie tin time capsule.

After agreeing early on that we wanted to marry each other, we created a fabulous spreadsheet of logistic considerations, tracked down a pair of corresponding wedding rings that remind us of constellations, and decided together to get married! We're looking forward to a lifetime of ​staying in for movie nights, spending time with our cat Sweet Potato, visiting museums, and rewatching Star Trek (which we only recently finished watching in Stardate order - a project that took us 2 1/2 years!).
