We met on Tinder (that's a dating app for the old people reading). Our first date was Mexican food at Mama's Kitchen followed by a Welshly Arms concert at the Crocodile in downtown Seattle. From there we eventually fell in love, I mean duh...we are getting married. Along the way we have shared a love of food/cooking, hiking and the outdoors, travel, our puppy Chewie, music and more. We got engaged on Jan 1, 2020, 3 days into an overseas trip that started with completely derailed travel plans and then a lost backpack on the tube. We ended up going to Scotland instead of France on mostly a whim. Our first night arriving in Inverness, Scotland we walked out of the hotel to a historic townsquare set upon a river with a castle on the hillside and a huge bridge, both magnificently lit against the night sky. Crossing a footbridge across from this scene, Clinton stopped Melissa and waited for no one to be near. He grabbed her to face her squarely, looked her in the eye and said, "Melissa. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you..." got on one knee and said "Will you marry me?" Melissa responded, "Are you serious?!" (Clinton is a "Richard" and had previously knelt on a knee around Melissa just to mess with her - so he deserved this reaction). She eventually gave a tearful yes (just Melissa; Clinton totally never cries....) and they shared an amazing evening walking through Inverness, up to the castle and out to dinner. We began our wedding plans upon our return in Jan/Feb, and Coronavirus be damned, we are carrying on with those plans to get married on July 17, 2021. It's going to be a helluva party, and we want to share our day with you, our family and friends.
