How We Met

3.5.16

Zack was a groomsman in one of his best friends wedding and I was a guest. Though I had been friends with the bride for 6 years and had met almost all of the grooms friends I had never met Zack. At the beginning of the cocktail hour I was my typical mess of a self and while attempting to go up a flight of stairs, yes you read that correct I was walking UP the stairs, I fell and Zack was there to not only help me up but also try very hard to conceal his laughter at my misfortune. I was terribly embarrassed but also very excited to now spend my night luring in this very handsome man, but sadly I found out shortly after he had a date at the wedding. We took a shot together (I had to pay him back for not completely busting out laughing in my face) and chatted some but then simply went our separate ways neither really thinking much of it. A month or so passed and Zack was moving in with a mutual friend of ours. I had already planned on going over to hangout with my friend and see their new apartment the day they moved in, but little did I know I would soon find out the exciting news that the wedding date was no longer in the picture. We spent the night drinking, playing board games, and flirting way too much. The next morning I woke up and I think I can speak for both of us when I say we couldn't get each other out of our heads. We were pretty much inseparable after that night and 3 weeks later Zack asked me if "I wanted to give this relationship thing a whirl".

The Proposal

10.12.19

If you know me you know I am one of the hardest people to surprise, simply because I am so damn nosey. Zack somehow pulled off planning a proposal for 6 months without me having any clue of who, what, when, where, why, or how many carats. Zack knows my love of horror/scary movies but also the love we share for Universal, so he knew Halloween Horror Nights was the perfect location. Him and some of our closest friends devised a plan to allow me to "put together" and plan an entire weekend for all of us to go. It seemed I was in control of planning and everything going on so oblivious me did not think twice about it. When we arrived at the park I had to use the restroom and as I was walking back to find the group Zack had texted me that one of our friends wanted us to take some photos in the front of the park. Again, extremely oblivious to everything going on around me I went and found them and we started to take a few very cheesy theme park photos. Next thing I know I hear "Babe" and when I turned around I could not believe what was happening, so much so I started repeatedly saying "No" out of disbelief. Of course that quickly changed to YES and I spent the rest of the night happy crying (or should I saw bawling) and gawking at my gorgeous ring and fiancé :)
