Luis and I met at work when everyone had to return to the office after working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From the moment we saw each other, it seemed there was an undeniable connection. I remember thinking Luis had to be married or taken—he was so serious, so put together. Luis and I would frequently make eye contact and I figured maybe he was single and interested in me. Turns out, I was right. Luis says that when he first saw me, he thought I was beautiful and immediately started asking our coworkers about me. He wasted no time in making his intentions clear. One of our favorite memories to laugh about now is our first almost-date. Luis asked me—through our work chat, no less—if I wanted to go to a Bad Bunny concert with him. I said no. But I did agree to dinner, and that dinner changed everything. (Don’t worry, I’ve made it up to him since—we’ve been to plenty of concerts together!) One of the most special parts of our relationship has been the way we’ve grown together. Early on, we spent a lot of time walking in parks, talking about everything, and truly getting to know each other. Those moments laid the foundation for the love we have today. Luis has children, and stepping into that dynamic was nerve-wracking. I wanted to make a great impression and, most importantly, ensure the kids felt comfortable. Three years later, I feel so blessed to be loved by them, and I love them endlessly in return. They have given me a love that knows no limits, and I wouldn’t trade that for the world. Luis and I could not see life without each other. When we reflect on both of our lives and how we ended up finding each other we truly believe that God orchestrated us finding each other. We are best friends. We communicate, we support each other, and we put God first. From school stress to life’s responsibilities, we always find ways to uplift and inspire each other. No matter how busy life gets—between work, school, and parenthood—we never miss a date night and always make time for another. Luis planned the most beautiful proposal. He told me we were going on a dinner date, but instead, we ended up at Cypress Grove Park. I didn’t realize what was happening at first, and I quickly realized we were at our proposal. It was emotional, overwhelming, and absolutely perfect—It was a dream Now, I’m counting down the days until I get to officially call Luis my husband. I can’t wait to live life by his side, to grow our family, and to one day be that older couple in rocking chairs, watching our grandkids play. Until then, we’ll keep doing what we do best—loving each other, communicating, laughing, and making time for the moments that matter most. Forever can’t come soon enough. Thank you all for taking the time to read our love story and getting a little more insight to our relationship. We are excited to celebrate our day with you.
