We met at a local pub in Kailua, I was working and Christian was an avid Guinness drinker. Our first date we went rock climbing, then came hiking and oceanside sunsets to solidify our relationship.

Cherry blossoms are a big deal here in northern VA and DC! Our first spring here we knew we needed to see them in person. Before driving north Christian saw the beautiful blooms in full effect (thank you Instagram) and decided that today was the day! Once we finally made it to the Tidal Basin we walked around taking in all the flowers. We stopped to take a picture in a small opening and Christian had secretly asked the young kid to "record us, I'm about to propose." There we were smiling for the "photo" when all of a sudden Christian dropped down on one knee. The crowd around us parted and waited for me to say YES!!!
