Some love stories start with a grand gesture, while others begin in the most familiar places. For us, it all started on the athletic fields of Bay Shore High School. Taylor, the varsity field hockey coach, and Brian, the varsity football coach, had always known of each other. But it wasn’t until one afternoon after school, during a long phone conversation about coaching together, that something shifted—turning a simple discussion into the beginning of our story. After football practice, Brian found himself lingering by the fence, watching as Taylor led her field hockey team through a thrilling playoff run. What started as casual post-practice conversations turned into something neither of us expected. We had already agreed to coach the girls' flag football team together for the upcoming season, but before that chapter even began, Brian took a chance—finally asking Taylor on a date. That first night at The Local in Babylon, they talked for hours, completely lost in conversation. It wasn’t just about sports or coaching—it was about life, dreams, and the future. That night, they spoke about a wedding in Ireland, a dream that felt distant yet entirely possible. Brian and Taylor left that date knowing one thing: they wanted to see where this could go, fully and completely. Since then, Taylor and Brian's story has been filled with laughter, adventure, and an unwavering partnership—both on and off the field. Now, standing here, about to make that first-date dream a reality, they are overwhelmed with gratitude and joy.
