Change of plans - new date!

Where we first met is really a mystery. It is an even toss up between Hiawatha Summer Camp or Madison Middle School. While we would socially see one another during our two years of high school together, it was a sunset evening sometime in 2009 or 2010 that Jesse left a lasting impression on Alex. Along with some other friends, Jesse and Alex happened to end up at the same hang out on that 2009 or 2010 sunset evening. In the Spring of 2010 Alex drove by the same spot where they hung out and remembered being with Jesse. The next day, she saw Jesse on Facebook messenger (yes we are going there). What started out as a friendly conversation to see how Jesse was doing turned into a first date at Mariners Opening Day and, as most of you know, the rest is history.

After nearly 8 years of dating, Jesse said he was going to propose by the end of the year (2019). In true Jesse Slader fashion, that proposal happened at 8:30 pm on December 31, 2019. What can we say? The man stuck to his word. With the help of his brother and his brother's co-workers at Salty's, Jesse pulled off an amazing proposal. Naturally we celebrated with champagne.
