Mitchell and I knew of each other in high school, but we didn’t really connect until early 2023. Mitchell was coming home for the Super Bowl and asked me if I wanted to hang out. I agreed and we set up a date. That day ended up being the day of the Chiefs parade, which I attended. When I got home I decided I didn’t want anyone over and turned off my phone. Mitchell was understandably upset that I had ghosted him, and as soon as he got back to North Carolina he blew my phone up. I answered his FaceTime and he immediately went off about how I stood him up, but I was distracted because I hadn’t seen what he looked like until that moment. I told him we could have a real conversation if he wanted because I found him very attractive. He said he wanted to complain some more but then we could talk after. From that day on we talked every day on the phone. He asked me to be his girlfriend on FaceTime and for the first four months of our relationship we had never met each other in person. He visited me periodically over the first two years of our relationship and I visited him once each year. The first time I went, he made my childhood dreams come true by showing me the ocean for the first time. The second time he made all of my dreams come true by asking me to be his wife. Since then he’s moved home and we’ve gotten a new place together. He became the step-parent of my 7 year old kitty, Grace and we adopted another kitty and named him Monty (he just turned 1). Now we’re working on building our future and our family together. We couldn’t be happier 🤍
