How we met...

November 2019

Edith was about to graduate from Arizona State University (ASU), and Skyler was finishing his first year there after transferring from Glendale Community College. Whenever anyone asked, “How did you meet?” we would casually say, “We both went to ASU.” That answer was usually enough for people to assume we met on campus — and we didn’t exactly correct them. The real story? Skyler and Edith met online (gasp)! Okay, okay… by 2019 it was actually very normal to meet online, so it’s not that scandalous. So yes, we met online, but it just so happened that we were both at ASU at the same time. The rest, as they say, is history.

Sedona 🐶

February 2022

After moving in together, Skyler and Edith started talking about getting a dog, and they’re so happy they did, because now they have Sedona, aka Big Bone. Sedona is super funny, gives the biggest side-eye, loves to play catch, and is Skyler’s ultimate snack buddy. She’s now four years old and officially their fur child.

The Engagement

June 2024

It all started with a dream trip to Seattle and Forks. As a huge fan of Twilight, Edith had always dreamed of visiting and making the drive to Forks, even knowing that’s not actually where the movies were filmed. After convincing Skyler to watch the movies (and successfully turning him into a Twihard), the trip became something they were both excited to explore together. Edith had a feeling Skyler might pop the question during the trip… but she couldn’t quite figure out when or where. If you know Edith, you know she loves to guess and she was just convinced it would happen in Seattle. Little did she know, Skyler had been planning something different all along. When they arrived at La Push Beach (the iconic beach referenced in Twilight), the beach was practically empty. After filling a vial of sand, completely unexpectedly, Skyler got down on one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” Obviously, Edith said yes. She may have guessed the wrong location, but she couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place — a place they’ll always remember as where their forever began.
