Zach and Skylar were connected by a mutual friend after their freshman year of college. Both stayed in Charleston that summer—Skylar to work and Zach for football workouts. Skylar jokingly told one of Zach’s teammates that if he was going to set her up with someone, she preferred an O-line build. While Skylar didn’t think much of it, the next day Zach reached out. They spent the summer getting to know each other, and when fall rolled around, they finally got the chance to meet. Once they did, they immediately became inseparable—Skylar attending every game she could, and the two spending as much of their limited time together as possible. It wasn’t long before things became serious. They spent the next few years studying, attending family events, watching each other graduate from college, and dreaming about what their future together would look like. Soon after they both graduated, Zach bought a ring, drove to Bluffton, and asked Skylar’s parents for their blessing to propose—which they happily gave. Zach then proposed at Shem Creek, with all of their closest family and friends cheering them on. Since getting engaged, the two have started new careers and even got their first dog together, Cash, who is the love of their lives. Life with each other—and with Cash—has already been the sweetest adventure. They can’t wait to celebrate with all of you as they start the next one.
