This place is not only a gorgeous hotel with delicious food and a rooftop bar, but also home to Springfield's famous "bathroom selfie." They're known for having the best lighting in 417-land. Some of our best selfies were taken here!
Just 40 minutes south of Springfield is the Branson Landing. This experience is full of shops, plenty of dining options and outdoor entertainment. Our first date was here at Black Oak Grill (they have the best fried goat cheese and Caesar salads. Ya know, balance).
Our favorite restaurant in town. We've had plenty of dates and lots of brunch here. The menu changes every season, but trust us we recommend everything this local chef whips up.
The perfect way to spend a Saturday morning! Tons of local vendors, live entertainment, fresh produce, food trucks and friendly faces. Yes, if you're traveling you probably won't want a fresh tomato or bundle of herbs; however, grab an iced coffee, a balloon animal for the kids and enjoy brunch at Progress. You'll feel like a local in no time.
Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium has been voted America's Best Aquarium through a national public poll conducted by USA TODAY. Celebrities such as Mark Walhberg and Kevin Costner were both in attendance at the opening night gala Tim and I both worked (while secretly crushing on one another). However, Tim didn't introduce me to Marky Mark and that's still a touchy subject. But another worthy mention, it's located in Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World - the 'Granddaddy' store of all Bass Pro Shops! Springfield Mo., where dreams come true.
Speaking of Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops - enter Big Cedar Lodge. This is where we met while working together. Where we had many dates, evening walks and, most importantly, got engaged. Enjoy tons of dining experiences, amazing outdoor views and plenty of golf (Tim's favorite). Fun fact, the area has been home to a few Legends of Golf Tournaments (where Tim didn't introduce me to Marky Mark again) and is even being called the next great golf destination. That's all I know to say, you just have to see it for yourself. Yes, it's a little under an hour from Springfield but trust us, you have to experience if you're here.
