Wedding Party

Jessica Porta

Maid of Honor

Jessica and I were paired up as roommates for Fuge in 2021 not knowing that we had both been living five minutes from each other for over a year. A few years, countless timer pics, and many documentary nights later, I am so thankful that our roommate surveys brought me my best friend. Jessica is kind, understanding, and hilarious. She loves Jesus and others fiercely and I am so thankful to have her next to me as my Maid of Honor.

Brenton Bailey

Best Man

When Brenton and I met in passing in 2018, neither of us could have imagined the friendship that would come from it. We became best friends, I even told Brenton that he would be my best man long before ever meeting Skylar. The past two years, Brenton has been a great friend to Skylar as well. We have seen the highest highs and the lowest lows together. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have right next to me as my best man.

Tristin Hogge

Bridesmaid

Tristin and I met in high school after having Latin III together junior year. We became friends later, but when I suggested she check out EMU for college I had no idea what we were getting into. Tristin became my forever roommate, Pentatonix karaoke partner, and head-banging buddy. I am so grateful for her humor, kindness, and encouragement to always be true to myself.

Mattie Parroco

Groomswoman

Mattie hated me for like a solid week when we met. After that first week, she became one of the best friends i’ve ever had. Mattie saved my life and will always be one of my closest people. She matches and one-ups the ‘dream big’ part of my personality and is the one of the most encouraging people i know. She also called that Skylar and I were in love wayyyyy before either of us knew it. I know it’s untraditional to have a ‘groomswoman’, but it just wouldn’t feel right without her there supporting us.

Sarah Rittenhouse

Bridesmaid

Living in Elmwood my freshman year at EMU brought me some of my best friends, including Sarah. She lived down the hall from Tristin and I and we all became fast friends through hall events and our education classes. I may also be partially responsible for her k-pop obsession. One of my favorite memories with Sarah is meeting on her back porch during junior year at EMU to dye her hair pink after not being able to see each other because of COVID. She is a bright light in this world and I am grateful I get to call her friend.

Barnabas Jordan

Groomsman

Barnabas is my partner in crime in so many aspects. He is one of my favorite people to talk to, hang out with, create with, and grow up with. Every time we’re together, we end up staying up too late because we can never seem to make a conversation end.

Sarah Grossen

Bridesmaid

Sarah is another friend I made during my days living in Elmwood. I truly believe that the Lord brought me and Sarah Grossen together. We slowly became friends thanks to our living situation and being stuck in our freshman honors class together. Sarah pushed me to pursue the things I was passionate about and is the reason I was able to play lacrosse at EMU. She also helped keep me grounded with a long walk almost every night where we would talk about anything and everything. She is one of the most Christ-like people I have ever known and I am so excited to share this day with her.

Jeremiah Jordan

Groomsman

Jeremiah is one of my favorite people to hang out with. We have the kind of friendship that means we could do anything together, and laugh and enjoy it the entire time. Whether it’s playing video games for hours together, or just sitting around, Jeremiah and I will always have a laugh and a good time.

Kira Ianetta

Bridesmaid

I have known Kira longer than almost anyone apart from my family. We grew up in church together and were inseparable from the time we were in the nursery. After countless summer camps, youth retreats, Just Dance game nights, soccer games, and horror movies, we are still friends to this day. Kira brings joy and humor to every situation. I am so thankful that she has been by my side as long as I can remember.

Nehemiah Jordan

Groomsman

I’ve known Nehemiah as long as I can remember, we grew up side by side. I’ve always looked up to him since I was little. He has seen me grow, struggle, and change. He's always there to support me. Nehemiah is a good brother and a good friend for life. Even when we don’t see each other because of distance, we pick up like we were never apart. I'm so excited to have my big brother by my side for this special day.

Zach Hunter

Officiant

I will always remember the day I met Zach. I was playing Uno with a group of friends during move-in week at NGU and he just kind of showed up. He sat next to me and I quickly thought he was the funniest person I had ever met. I made him put his number in my phone, and that is one of the best decisions I have ever met. Zach is a one-of-a-kind friend that I could not have found in anyone else. He has been there through some of the lowest parts of my life and understands me more than almost anyone. He is my go-to when I have an idea, and my partner when the time comes to make it happen. If I ever become a millionaire, it will have been because of Zach. He also witnessed the beginning of Skylar and my relationship, and I'm sure has his own perspective/story about that. He is passionate about ministry and follows wherever God leads him. I can't think of anyone better to play this part on our wedding day! - Mordecai I met Zach after Mordecai convinced him to work Fuge in 2021. We did not become close until the end of the summer, but I think he knew that Mordecai and I would be together before we did. Right before Zach left for the summer, he told me to "take care of his boy for him." I have followed that advice to this day. Zach is probably the funniest person I have ever met. He always finds a way to turn any situation into something humorous and positive. I am grateful for his heart and kindness and couldn't imagine anyone better to officiate our wedding. - Skylar
