It all started in January 2023 when Skye’s sister, Kloee, decided to play matchmaker. She got a group of friends together and added Micah, hoping something would spark between them. At first, things were pretty slow, but everything changed on Skye’s birthday. Micah showed up with her favorite flowers and candy, going to five different stores just to make sure he found the right treats. That sweet gesture kicked off something special, and soon they were hanging out with the group, but it didn’t take long for them to start spending every night together after work. By December, they took a big step and moved into their first apartment. Then, on the night of May 12, Skye jokingly asked Micah, “Would you want to get married tomorrow?” To her surprise, he said, “Sure!” So, the next morning, they rushed around Davidson County trying to get their marriage license. Of course, it was pouring rain, and the computers were down. But they didn’t give up! The next day, May 14—Micah’s birthday—they tried again and finally made it to the courthouse.
