Although Skye and Grant were only two years apart at Summit High School with many mutual friends, they officially met at the height of the pandemic in 2020 on a dating app. They both thought of cancelling as it was snowing heavily outside, and all indoor restaurants were closed. Thankfully, however, the two had their first date at Monkless Brewing where there was shelter from the snow. After that date, Grant and Skye would spend most of their time together, eventually moving in together and adding their chocolate lab Moose to their family, alongside their guinea pig Lily.

Skye was born on Long Island, NY where she spent her childhood. She then moved with her family to Bend, Oregon in 2006. Following high school Skye spent a year in Berlin, Germany working as an Au Pair before moving back to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon. In 2022 Skye decided to go back to school to earn her bachelors in nursing from the University of South Florida. Once she completes this degree she will be moving back to Bend, OR where she will rejoin Grant, their dog Moose and their guinea pig Lily. Grant was born in Long Beach, CA. Soon after, his family moved to Bend, Oregon when he was only 6 months old. Grant attended school in Bend until he went to college at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He majored in economics and minored in business. After graduating Grant moved to Portland where he began his career in commercial real estate. Eventually, he moved back to Bend and joined Compass Commercial Real Estate, where he is now a broker.
