Maid of Honor
All memories with Ate and Skyler are too precious and magical to pick a favorite. I have memories of family parties where the room would suddenly be filled with excitement and laughter because Ate and Skyler finally arrived. I have memories of hanging out on their porch in their hammock as Ate would ask me about my life and Skyler would practice magic tricks. I have memories of eating at Old Spaghetti Factory and then staying up watching Black Mirror long after they’ve knocked out (because I was far too scared to sleep). I have memories of making butterscotch waffles and omelettes. All these memories I hold dear to my heart, and I am so excited for the new ones to come.
Maid of Honor
Carol was having her going away party to New York on Main Street in downtown Vista at Vista Vista Pub. I came in and watched Skyler do magic as Carol played music with her band. They both finished and came back together to talk about how excited they were about what they were doing and about their future. They started to talk about how they would visit each other in New York and Colorado and they stuck with it through it all. They made it through a year of changes with seeming ease, both fitting into each others' new places quite nicely. I'm so glad they get to spend their lives with each other and never have to be apart again. I love their collaborative spirit and inspiring love for each other to always find a way to make each other a part of their lives.
Matron of Honor
Carol and I met when we were both teaching at the same school. Together, my husband, Carol, Skyler and I have challenged ourselves to escape rooms! One day, when we were out of town, Jason and I created an escape room in our house when we asked Skyler and Carol to check on our house. I remember the pic they sent Jason and I when they house sat for us after completing the “escape room” challenge. I instantly screamed when I saw the pic saying thinking, “Gosh you can totally see the two of them glowing and happy in this picture!” I just felt like I could see their personalities and laughter coming through the picture. It instantly made me feel secure with the house and we were so happy we have such good friends in our life.

Picture this: two guys and two girls walk into a Boston beer hall. One girl is carrying a puzzle. One boy is a magician. The entertainment begins and a small crowd gathers. Laughter, smiles, and absolute joy surround Carol and Skyler wherever they go, and I'm lucky enough to have been a part of this experience for the last few years, first with Carol alone and now with her partner in crime, it is even better than ever.
Bridesmaid
One of my favorite memories would have to be when Skyler came to do magic and Carol did photography at one of my parties. Watching them entertain guests, I remember thinking how they perfectly match each other's lives and that they would be together forever.

On the King side of the family, there is rib cookoff every year in Holtville, California. The Claybrooks/Kings volunteer for the event every year. This past year, Carol and I both volunteered in the ticket booth with Ronda, Skyler's mom, and Rhoda, Skyler's aunt. We got to spend time all together at the cookoff and enjoy the food! Even though Carol can't eat meat, she was able to eat lots of yummy sides! Carol, Skyler, Ian, and I got to spend some time together out in the smoky air, enjoying time in Holtville!
Best Man
In High School, I could always tell that Sky and Carol had a special connection. Carol was a member of the Steel Drum Band, and I will always remember Sky hanging out the whole practice just to get a chance to show her a magic trick or origami piece he had made in the meantime. After Sky came back from AZ, I remember he was always wanting to hang out with a “friend”, but he would never tell me who. This was the time when Sky and Carol’s relationship flourished, and once I found out, I knew that their relationship was meant to be. I truly think that they are a match made in heaven; hands down they are the most fun people I know and they always find a way to keep their friends and family close.

I’ve know Skyler basically my whole life. I grew up next door to him and pretty much his brother Ian and I were together everyday after school or during summer. I remember doing 7-11 trips, my first desert trip with them, trips to the Silver Strand State Beach, wrestling on the beds, playing video games all night, soccer in the backyard, driving in my car to in and out, early morning beach sessions before school and so much more. Skyler has always been like a brother to me and one of the best guys I could know. Plus I used to be his guinea pig when he would practice magic and now look at him! Excited to be a part of his and Carol’s big day!
