FAQs

You've got questions, we've got answers.
Question

What are the COVID safety requirements?

Answer

Out of concern for the safety and comfort of our guests, we’re asking everyone planning to attend to be fully vaccinated. We will also be following the local New York guidelines for masks at the time of the event. If you are traveling to NYC during your stay, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the local requirements. As of January 2022, NYC requires proof of vaccination for indoor dining, indoor fitness and indoor entertainment.

Question

What about kids?

Answer

In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off! Please reach out to Gweno Brown (grbrown.family@icloud.com) for information on babysitting services you can book.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The hotel does not have parking, but there is plenty of free street parking in the area.

Question

I'm keen to impress, what should I wear?

Answer

It's a special occasion and we love any excuse to dress up! Suits, ties, long dresses and cocktail dresses are all okay! Most importantly, you don't need to travel with a hat!

Question

What time should I be there?

Answer

Our ceremony starts at 5:00pm, but come early and grab a drink in the lobby at the Brooklyn Lantern!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Our wedding will be at The Box House Hotel and we've got a room block for you (add "Brown/Skolnick Wedding" into comments box when booking). The rooms are awesome - you won't be disappointed.

Question

I don't know where I'm going! How do I get there?

Answer

You've got options. Uber, Lyft, taxi, subway, bike, ferry. Whichever you decide to use, download Citymapper on your phone to help you find it.

Question

What is this "horah" that I keep hearing about?

Answer

It's a traditional Israeli circle dance seen at Jewish weddings. It's organized chaos and usually goes on way longer than it should. We'll get lifted in a chair, you'll dance in a circle around us. Just follow someone that looks like they know what they're doing!

Question

I have so many questions! How do I contact you?!

Answer

Send us a note at Adam.h.brown@me.com. We'll answer anything you've got!
