Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail attire. Women: break out your favorite party dress, little black dress, jumpsuits, pant suit (be mindful of shoe selection, the ground is a mixture of grass and grave. A block heal, wedge shoe, or flats are recommended). Men: a dark suit with a dress shirt or dress shirt and slacks. Tie & Jacket = bonus points!

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

All in one venue! The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside the Blacksmith Shop and the reception will take place inside the Blacksmith Shop. We have the entire site for the evening so feel free to explore the trains and near by buildings.

Question

Parking

Answer

There is a large parking lot at the entrance of the train museum. You will not need to pay for parking.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Family will be asked to gather for photos. Guests will be invited to gather near the landmark smoke tower to enjoy beverages and hors d'oeuvres.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

20 minutes early will give yourself time to park and walk from the entrance of the museum to the center where the ceremony will be. Ushers will be available to help guide you to the location.

Question

It's a museum, will there be restrooms near by?

Answer

As of right now, the permanent restrooms are being renovated at the museum. Lux portable restrooms have been provided and will be located near the landmark smoke tower. (The portable restrooms include ADA access). They are not immediately adjacent to the reception building but they are visible in a well lit area.

Question

Answer

Yes, at the Double Tree by Marriot Savannah Historic District. More information found on the accommodations page.

Question

Will there be food and drinks at the reception?

Answer

Yes! Food and beverage will be provided. Food will be served buffet style, but bread and salads will be available for dining at your table.

Question

May I use my phone to take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We request that you do not take photos during the ceremony. We will take a moment to pause for a photo but then kindly ask that you put them away! We will have photo and videography captured and look forward to sharing that with you!

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage you to help us collect memories of our celebration! Please wait until the conclusion of the wedding ceremony to post photos so you don't miss a moment!

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

We hope to gather with friends and family as much as we can! We will communicate any planned gatherings once we have those details. Check back a week before the wedding!
