FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be semi-formal/cocktail attire. While the ceremony is outdoors, we're leaning a bit dressier than your typical backyard wedding. The bridal party will be dressed in black, so feel free to dress up with us! Because the ceremony and reception are on grass, we recommend avoiding stilettos. Flats, wedges or chunky heels will be much more comfortable throughout the day.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We know a weekend away isn't always easy to coordinate. If possible, we encourage guests to enjoy the celebration as an adults-only getaway. However, we completely understand that childcare isn't always an option, and children are welcome if needed. If you plan to bring your children, please let us know how many will be attending and their ages so we can plan accordingly. We simply ask that parents keep a close eye on their little ones throughout the celebration so everyone can enjoy the day safely.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We chose not to reserve hotel blocks since we weren't sure how many guests would need accommodations. Fortunately, there are five hotel options within about five minutes of the venue, so you'll have plenty of choices. We recommend booking your accommodations early, especially since September is a popular time to visit the Walker area.

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

Dinner will be served buffet-style and will include: Stuffed chicken breast with gravy Mashed potatoes Mixed salads Carrots Spinach artichoke dip appetizer If you have a serious food allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know ahead of time so we can do our best to accommodate you.

Question

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will take place outdoors (weather permitting), followed by a reception under a large event tent. We recommend bringing a light jacket for the evening, as Minnesota nights in late September can be cool.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving 20–30 minutes before the ceremony to allow time for parking, finding your seat and getting settled before we say "I do."

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes! Free parking will be available at the venue. Signs and attendants will help direct you when you arrive.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If you feel we missed someone in your party, please let us know!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Short answer: yes! While we won't have a fully stocked bar, we'll be serving a selection of domestic beers, seltzers and wine, along with three signature cocktails available while supplies last.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We'd love for everyone to be fully present during our ceremony. Feel free to snap as many photos as you'd like during cocktail hour and the reception—we can't wait to see them afterward!

Question

What should I do if I have another question?

Answer

Feel free to reach out to Kennette at 507-312-1757 should you have any other questions!
