Question

I have never traveled to Europe, do you have any suggestions?

Answer

We suggest that you get at least two weeks out of your vacation. You have already made the trip, so why not enjoy? Our goal with planning our wedding in France is not only to share our special day with our closest friends and family, but also to invite you all to join us in our travels! We plan to fly into Paris roughly a week before the wedding and fly to Lyon on Thursday June 9th, 2023 for the wedding. In Paris, we will spend a day exploring museums such as the Louvre (to see the Mona Lisa), a day Loire Valley/Normandy (Castles and World War II), day in Champagne Region (popping bottles!), a day walking the streets of Paris on a walking food tour and of course— site seeing and Eiffel Tower! If you plan to join us in Paris a week before the wedding, please let us know by Jan. 15th, 2023. If you plan on doing your own thing, we still suggest you fly to Europe at least 4 days before the wedding to acclimate to the time change. We look forward to seeing you all.

Question

When is the best time to book accommodations and flights?

Answer

From our experience, we have found to get the best pricing when we book around 3 months before.

Question

Accommodations

Answer

One of the main reason we reserved Domain des Halles is to be able to accommodate every one of our guest to stay on the grounds with us. PLEASE NOTE: The venue requires an accommodation fee of approximately 300 USD per guest, which covers your stay, transportation to and from the venue, and food for the entire wedding weekend. If you will be staying with us, please let us know on the RSVP page and we'll reach out with further details.

Question

What are we going to eat?

Answer

An assortment of food will be provided for the entire wedding weekend to accommodate all allergies and taste. If you have a specific allergy or diet, please let us know as soon as possible.

Question

How will we get to the venue after landing in Lyon?

Answer

We have arranged for transportation from the Lyon Airport to the venue and back. Currently, we have shuttles scheduled to pick up at 2:30pm on June 9th, 2023 and depart from the venue on June 11th 2023 at 2:30pm. We will be available via WhatsApp/Cell, so feel free to reach out when you arrive at the airport.

Answer

We will be sending email updates leading up to the event. If you have a specific question, please email or text us. We are happy to answer any questions.

Question

Cell Service

Answer

If you wish to have cellular phone service while in France, we recommend contacting your wireless service provider about the travel plans they offer. Roaming rates can be very high. If you decide you don't need cell service, we recommend going into your settings and turning off your cellular data to restrict all data to Wi-Fi only. The Chateau offers Wi-Fi, you can can stay connected while on the grounds. We will stay connected via WhatsApp at all times, so feel free to touch base!

Question

Time Zone

Answer

France is 9 hours ahead of San Francisco, so we recommend trying to sleep on the fight and if necessary, drinking your latte when you land! Being Jet-lagged sucks, so we hope your clocks adjust quickly!

Question

Can I bring the kids?

Answer

Due to the unique nature of our destination wedding, this will be an ADULTS ONLY AFFAIR, unless your kids are part of the wedding party. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy this fun weekend getaway with us!
