The Start

No doubt, our relationship built pretty fast. We met at work, a warehouse that sells locksmith tools. Don’t be fooled, this was not love at first site. Yoyo did not want Siri to work there, Yoyo had a feeling she would be trouble. One day Sirima made a silly, flirty comment for Yoyo to think about her when she goes home. Then our relationship started to become "friendly", we started talking, and by Sunday, June 5th, 2016 we were officially together. By October 2016, Yolanda gave Sirima a promise ring, took a trip to Disney Land, rented a house together, and then a couple months later we adopted 2 dogs. The beginning moved pretty fast, yet Yolanda took 7 years and 4 months to propose, but who counted. HAHA. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that we wanted to share a life together. We both share the same family values, and both understand the need to buy two Hershey almond bars cause neither one of us are going to share. We are two people who share the love for watching movies, argue over who is paying for coffee, and love to spend time with family. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

The Proposal

October 22, 2023

A surprise proposal! While Sirima was planning what she thought was to be a family stay-cation, Yolanda was planning her perfect proposal. We had hotel reservations at Green Valley Ranch Station Casino, a floor suite that had an outside patio. We checked in on a Sunday, first night there and the plan was to gamble and play bingo. Little did Sirima know while she was distracted with playing live bingo, Sirima and Yolanda’s family were decorating the hotel room. After losing bingo, we head back to the hotel room where Sirima’s surprise awaits her. Sirima pushes through the door, “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars has started playing, she stands confused for a second, and continues to walk through the room. Sirima’s and Yolanda’s closest family all had a rose in hand that was handed to Sirima one at a time that led her out to the patio where Yolanda had a bouquet of flowers. On the floor of the patio laid a heart shape made by rose pedals and candles, bright white letter’s that spell “Marry Me”. Yolanda says a few words, gets down on one knee, and finally ask Sirima to marry her. You already know what Sirima’s answer was because who writes about a rejected proposal? But just in case you are unsure, she said yes! The new engaged couple share a brief kiss, before more of their close friends and family pop out from behind a bush. This moment marks the beginning of the next chapter in Sirima and Yolanda’s life.
