Where it all started. Chris asked Siobhan to meet him at Mickey's for their first date and the rest is really history. What now might be considered one of the last authentic dive bars in East Nashville Mickey's is an institution. No DJ, no bands, no karaoke, just an award winning jukebox, pool, foosball, darts, and a bona fide smoking section.
A 1930s sideshow-inspired gin joint, Tiger Bar specializes in martinis and classic cocktails from the era of the vintage circus. It’s a favorite of Chris and Siobhan's for a fancy night out. Pro tip: if you stay until midnight, you’ll get to enjoy a neighborhood champagne toast on the house. Notes: If traveling in a large group we recommend making a reservation.
Located in East Nashville. Excellent for a casual lunch or dinner. The Wash is an old East Nashville car wash turned into a laid-back outdoor food court, where each bay is its own local kitchen and the whole place feels like the neighborhood’s backyard. Featuring Peruvian, Cuban, Thai, super quesadillas, Vietnamese, and pho
Located in the heart of East Nashville's Five Points Neighborhood Duke's is a staple for local Nashvillians. They have a fire deli in the back where you can order late night sammie, drinks are cheaper than you would expect and the music they pump out round the clock is as good as you’d expect.
Located in Germantown town near downtown. Southern upscale dining great for a date night or larger groups. Menu curated by Chris's good friend and former co-worker, Executive Chef Caroline Guffy.
Located in 5 Points in East Nashville. Live music venue and dive bar featuring a wide variety of local bands every night of the week. The 5 Spot has been Chris's home base for his various music projects over the years. Excellent staff and always a great hang.
Located downtown on Broadway. If there's one bar you have to see on Broadway, it's Roberts, featuring traditional country music and some of the best musicians on Broadway, a dance floor that's always packed, and the world famous "Recession Special" - a fried bologna sandwich, bag of chips, moon pie, and a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer for $6. Chris and Siobhan's favorite spot on Broadway, maybe even all of Nashville.
Located downtown in Printer's Alley off Broadway. Ah, Printer's Alley. If you find yourself downtown on Broadway, do yourself a favor and head over to Printer's Alley. Fleet Street is a no-frills British style pub. No live music. No DJs. Just an awesome jukebox and some of the best bar food downtown. A great place to take a break from the madness and regroup.
Located downtown. If we had to pick one touristy thing to do during the day it would be the Country Music HoF, even if you don't like country music. They have a ton of cool stuff in there, so be sure to set aside at least a few hours, preferably the whole afternoon.
