Question

How far is Corn Creek from the Strip?

Answer

Corn Creek is a straight shot once you are on the 95 heading north, about 35 miles from the south end of the strip or the Mandalay Bay. Depending on the time of day and traffic the average commute is about 45 minutes.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Yes! Las Vegas does not have any reliable public transportation, and the wedding will be held outside city limits. Don't rely solely on ride shares, prices range from $30-$50 a ride.

Question

Getting there and back?

Answer

Entering the address of the Ceremony into google maps should bring you to Corn Creek from where you are staying. You should plan to drive or carpool and should arrive between 3 and 3:30PM. If you are staying for the reception / after party, and are planning to drink you will most likely either have to plan to camp on the property, party all night, or sleep in your car. Ubers will come pick you up if you choose to do so.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

October is the BEST month of the year in Las Vegas. During the day highs range from mid-80s to low 90s but the temperature drops around 25 degrees after the sun goes down to a very pleasant ~60 degrees. Please plan to wear a light sweater at night. Corn Creek is an off-the-grid community, meaning... no pavement to lock in the day's heat, so it tends to get a bit more chilly compared to the city.

Question

Shoes?

Answer

This is a very important question... there will be lots of dirt at the ceremony and reception. Heels are fine but please beware the ground is uneven and your shoes will most likely be ruined. It is advised that you bring a second set of shoes for the reception if you choose to wear heels or any shoes that may be damaged.

Question

Downtown or the Strip?

Answer

I always answer this question with Downtown! But each has their own draws! Downtown, the nightlife is much more freaky, centered in a small radius and generally less expensive. The Strip, while it has more extravagant hotels, is very spread out. If you are interested in seeing a show or going to a night club while you are in town the Strip is a better choice.

Question

Gifts?

Answer

Brad and Siobahn would love donations to their downpayment fund, vintage glassware, 1950s-70s pyrex sets, or donations to their honeymoon fund.

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

Unfortunately, since the wedding is in a remote location and we anticipate a varying preference from our guests there is no hotel block at this time.
