We met in chilly January at a matrimonial event organized by a mosque. Seated at the same table with other singles, we found ourselves discussing what makes an ideal partner. As the conversation heated up and turned into a lively debate among three participants, Sinthia, the cool-headed diplomat, calmly interrupted and said, “Can we move on to the next question?” Her tactful intervention restored peace, and Bobby was quietly impressed by her composure. A few days later, at Bobby’s request, the event organizer connected us through email. She agreed to the introduction and decided to give the stranger a chance. We began exchanging emails, but when Bobby struggled to send a text message, a few days of silence left Sinthia wondering if he even knew how to text. Undeterred, Bobby sent another email, and soon the text messages blossomed into phone calls. Our first date took place at a cozy coffee house on a stormy evening in Anaheim. From that moment on, we went on many dates, discovering each other’s values, interests, goals, culinary tastes, love for travel, and our unending ability to converse for hours. As the months passed, our rainy dates led to deeper, more meaningful conversations about our future together. We began to realize that the life partners we had been searching for were right in front of us. We met each other’s families and friends, and Bobby’s traditional values melted Sinthia’s heart when he respectfully asked her father for her hand in marriage. He then proposed to Sinthia, leading to the upcoming wedding in October. Please join us in celebrating Sinthia and Bobby’s nikah (wedding) ceremony. We would love to see you all!
