On our first date, we went to Goat Hill in Princeton, NJ and watched the sunset. The sun went down quickly before we realized we weren't ready for the date to be over! Michael shared that he and his friends would play board games later and asked if I wanted to join. Although he was nervous that this request would be too strange for a first date, it surely was not as we both quickly fell in love and became inseparable.
After multiple elaborate attempts to propose, Michael decided that the only place that would be fit for our engagement would be the city we've grown to call home. One morning in late August, Michael woke up with a feeling that today was the day to propose. He quickly tried to prompt me to get dressed and start the day by heading out to the park, but I was steadfast in my decision to lay around in my pajamas all day and do absolutely nothing. Unbeknownst to me, Michael had a ring burning in his pocket and he was panicking at my refusal to leave. In our pajamas in our first apartment, Michael proposed to me with my dream ring. I am not quite sure what either of us said, but I do know that we both felt the magic of that moment as we fell into each others' arms. Although an elaborate plan didn't pan out as Michael had planned, I couldn't imagine a proposal that is more "us" than that.
