Avalon Nature Preserve
Avalon is one of our fav spots for a quiet escape/hike. The park is a mix of gardens, wildflower meadows, and wooded trails. it’s a peaceful way to take a breath and enjoy the scenery before we get the celebrations started!
Northport Village
We recommend a stroll through Northport Village for a dose of LI North Shore charm. It’s filled with great restaurants, local breweries, and cute boutiques. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat or take a scenic walk by the water before the festivities begin!
Robert Moses Beach
For a classic Long Island beach day with white sand and big waves, this is our go-to ocean beach. It’s on the south shore, and it's a great way to relax by Atlantic ocean while you're in town.
The North Fork Wineries
For a true Long Island experience, we highly recommend a drive through North Fork Wine Country. Most of the region’s best vineyards are clustered along Main Road and Sound Avenue, making it incredibly easy to "winery hop" heading East from one tasting room to the next. We don't have a single favorite because they’re all wonderful, just pick a spot that looks inviting, grab a flight, and enjoy the views! Note The North Fork is about a 45–60 minute drive from the Sunken Meadow area, so we recommend planning for a full-day trip if you have it!
