Like all good DC dating stories, we met online. "Your smile makes me smile," Kim said to Anthony in a message on OKCupid. Anthony chose a sushi restaurant for our first date. Over edamame, unagi and beer we talked for hours. Not wanting the date to end, we went to a nearby game bar for drinks afterwards. We won a game of shuffleboard against another couple, and celebrated with our first kiss. After saying goodbye, Kim texted Anthony at 12:01 to be the first to wish him happy birthday! Over the next two weeks we went on several more dates. When Kim flew back to DC from a trip abroad a few weeks later, Anthony was waiting for her arrival with pizza & cheesecake. That sealed the deal!
We crisscrossed DC in order to spend time together during the first few years of our relationship. Travel was a shared priority early on, and together we've visited eight countries and counting! In 2017, we decided to move in together in Southwest DC. Soon thereafter, we adopted two kittens and officially became Crazy Cat Parents. We continue to love city living, and enjoy having friends over for drinks or grilling on our rooftop.
While out shopping one day, Kim "tricked" Anthony into trying on some rings at different jewelry stores. Anthony got the hint…and while on a holiday to visit Kim’s parents in Singapore, he knew he could find the perfect place for a romantic proposal. Nearing the end of their trip, Anthony planned a special night out to downtown Singapore’s iconic Gardens By the Bay. All suspicions aside, nothing prepared Kim for when Anthony got down on one knee and popped the question. After lots of happy tears, Anthony’s timing transitioned perfectly for the newly engaged couple to enjoy the beautiful symphony of lights and music under Singapore’s soaring Super Trees. Kim's parents, aware of the plan, were waiting at home with the champagne. We're so excited to have you help us start this next chapter in our lives together!
