Updates

In the midst of COVID-19, what is most important to us is that our friends and families are safe. We have rescheduled with vendors to have a small wedding celebration on August 22nd, 2020. We, along with our venue, want this to be a safe gathering for all of those who feel comfortable attending. Some of our precautions include making this event and outdoor wedding with all barn doors open for lots of airflow, providing face masks, hand sanitizer, and making sure that ceremony seating and dining tables follow social distancing guidelines of 6 feet. We really hope we can celebrate this covenent with you then! Stay safe! Paige & Zach

How We Met

Her Story

In summer 2016, I started my first summer babysitting job in Rivermoore Park. Every morning, I sat up at the pool while Erin, the youngest, had swim practice. That is where I found Coach Zach. I loved watching him with the kids and I really wanted to catch his attention. Unfortunately, I never got more than a slight smile so it wasn’t awkward as he walked past my chair. Summer 2017 came around and I was looking for a new nanny job on care.com. I coincidently got a job with the Ford's who also were on Coach Zach's swim team! I was so excited to have another year to play this game in my head to catch his attention. And with three rambunctious kids on the team, it was not difficult! He and I started talking and we seemed to really hit it off! I was snap chatting all my friends about the progress I had made. It was time I learned more about this "Coach Zach". So I googled the kids' swim team and found his last name in seconds. Looked him up on Facebook and BAM! He has a girlfriend. Game over. Summer 2018 comes around and I was planning on graduating getting a big girl job... but I decided to have one last summer babysitting. I was NOT thinking about Coach Zach... I mean... he was supposed to teaching in South Georgia now... he was NOT supposed to come back to coach that summer. But I was curious about him still.. so I looked him up again on Facebook and OMG! He. Was. SINGLE! I was sad to see he was not at swim practice those first few weeks. But one day we showed up to swim practice and I heard him! My heart dropped. I couldn’t believe he was back! I HAD to talk to him! This was my last year!!! I made myself walk up to him that day and I said “hey Coach Zach”. He replied “hey”. I thought in my head “shoot he doesn’t remember my name!” Anyways, as evidenced by our coming marriage, I won my game to get Zach’s attention! We started dating in June 2018, he proposed this May, and we cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you on March 28, 2020!

How We Met

His Story

I met the girl of my dreams at a point where my plans for love couldn’t get much lower. I had moved back home in an effort to save some coin and resumed the role of swim coaching over the summer. I was finally set to have some “me time” and was determined to focus on my path to self improvement. I couldn’t have been on this plan for more than about 5 minutes before a familiar voice rang out on my first day of work, “Hi Coach Zach!” I recognized her immediately as the cute nanny who worked with some of the kids and remembered having a few lovely conversations with her the year before. Determined to stick to my plan I said hi and blew by her where everyone I worked with quickly told me how dumb I was to blow her off. I told them it was fine and I wasn’t interested, but I couldn’t deny that she sure was lookin cute this year… I caved, as all men inevitably do to beautiful girls, and before I knew it we were talking together every Fun Friday and she began consuming more of my thoughts and more of my time. After a few blundered attempts to actually get her number, I told all my friends about how I just couldn’t get over the swim team nanny. I became determined to get her to notice me at work and finally got her number and convinced her to let me take her out on a date. For me the date was absolute magic. I found myself sitting on the other side of the table reminding myself to go slow and that I was just excited, but deep down I knew I was already falling in love. For her… well she got a good free meal at a restaurant she had never heard of before. Honestly I don’t think she was very impressed with my suave cool guy persona... but I could tell that deep down I had her attention. From that moment on I worked on holding that attention and convincing her that I wasn’t just some crazy head over heels fool saying what she wanted to hear. Over our time spent together I’ve worked tirelessly to become the man she wants and I’ll continue to do so over all our years together.
