FAQs

Question

What's the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We are hosting a black tie wedding. For the ladies, this means either a full or mid-length dress. For the gentlemen, this means a tuxedo or alternatively a black suit and tie.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

With the exception of children within our family and nursing babies, the day will be adults only.

Question

What about gifts?

Answer

To both of us, the most important thing is to gather as many of our friends and family as possible to celebrate together. Having been to quite a few weddings (13) in 2023, we understand attending weddings can be expensive. If you would like to give us a gift, we would hugely appreciate a financial contribution towards our honeymoon.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

If attending the ceremony, we kindly request that you arrive by 2.30pm to ensure everyone is seated comfortably and ready in advance. NB: The day will run on "Jess time". The Bride will not be late.

Question

Where will your ceremony be?

Answer

That very much depends on the weather. Weather permitting, the wedding ceremony will be held outside overlooking the lake. We'd suggest bringing along a cover up in case it's not blazing sunshine. If it's a very windy or else a rainy day, the wedding ceremony will take place inside the castle.

Question

When will I be fed?

Answer

There will be snacks during the drinks reception from 4pm, followed by a multi-course dinner. Given the ceremony has a late enough start time of 3pm, we would suggest having lunch prior to arriving for the ceremony.

Question

I have a food allergy/dietary requirement, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please advise of any food allergies/dietary requirements when completing your RSVP.

Question

What's the plan with drinks?

Answer

During the drinks reception, there will be a selection of prosecco, beer, and non-alcoholic sparkling wine for guests. During dinner, there will be wine served by the staff. Outside of this, the bar happily accepts card or cash if you're keen for additional drinks.

Question

When can I check into my accommodation in Castle Leslie Estate?

Answer

Check-in time is 4pm for both the Castle and the Lodge. It will be possible to complete the check in process and leave your luggage with the respective concierge teams in advance of this time. However, it will not be possible to enter your room until after the ceremony. Castle Leslie suggests that all guests should arrive ready for the wedding ceremony.

Question

Is there transport between the hotels and the ceremony?

Answer

If you are staying within Castle Leslie Estate or in Glaslough Village, the ceremony and reception are within walking distance (10mins of a gentle walk from the village, 5mins from the Lodge). If you are staying in Monaghan Town in one of the recommended hotels, there will be a minibus leaving at 2pm to bring guests from the hotel to the ceremony. We will have a shuttle service running from 11pm until 3am to bring guests back.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

There is ample parking available within Castle Leslie Estate. There is a car park adjacent to the Castle, as well as a car park next to the Lodge at the entrance of the estate.

Question

What colour are the bridesmaids wearing?

Answer

This legitimately has been a frequently asked question so it's been included here! Their dresses are a warm shade of pink.

Question

I have a question that hasn't been answered!

Answer

Please feel welcome to get in touch with one of us (Jess) with your query.
