U.S. National Whitewater Center
The US National Whitewater Center is home to the world's largest manmade whitewater river and has outdoor activities all year long. The USNWC offers 40+ miles of cross country trails, 20 ropes courses, 7 ziplines, a 70 acre off leash dog park, and one of the largest outdoor climbing facilities in the US. From November through February enjoy 24,000 square feet of ice in four distinct skating areas. Rentals available on site (ice skates, mountain bikes, helmets, harnesses, etc.).

If you are looking for an urban adventure, walking along the Rail Trail is a great way to explore the city. For those of you looking to spend time on the water, Lake Wylie and Lake Norman are both less than a 30 minute drive from the city center. Located in Gaston County 32 miles west of Charlotte, Crowders Mountain State Park boasts multiple hiking trails and two mountain peaks with magnificent views of the surrounding Piedmont. Pack a meal and enjoy a picnic in Freedom Park or one of the many parks in the Charlotte Metro area has to offer.
