This story begins far before the day we met, with our mothers, Laurette and Theresa, conspiring together while working at Ohio Health. At the time, Rachael lived in Texas as a Camp Director and Mike lived in Alabama while he was in flight school to become a Black Hawk pilot. Both far too busy to be dating, and both with plans to move back to Columbus at the end of the summer in 2022. With their children's singleness being a top concern, Theresa and Laurette took matters in their own hands and decided to become matchmakers. Their scheme to set us on a blind date worked, with a Friday Happy Hour meet up at Donerick's Pub in Hilliard. Happy Hour then turned into our first date at Grandview Cafe a week later, which then turned into Mike meeting Rachael's friend (and Maid of Honor + the Officiant of their wedding), Maureen, at Barrel and Taps for a cocktail later that night. While the two of us debate to this day what our dating anniversary truly is, we have been inseparable ever since our moms intervened in the best way possible that August day! We are so grateful for everyone who has been with us along the journey, and who have supported our relationship in so many different ways.
