Our Story

Who would have thought 2020 would be the year of love?

It all began with a men’s league hockey game... and a beer. Brooke had just graduated college, while David was still living in Tempe. One night, Brooke’s friend invited her to catch a game - mainly to catch up, since Brooke had just moved back to Phoenix from Flagstaff. Little did she know, she'd be catching feelings too. Enter David, with his hockey moves and unforgettable bright red pants. After the game, he confidently slid his phone across the table and asked for her number. Smooth. From that moment on, Brooke made it a weekly tradition to show up to those late Thursday night games - not for the love of hockey or beer, but for David. Everyone on the team could see the spark, and after three months of flirting and post-game hangouts, they finally went on their first official date. The night included dinner at Culinary Dropout and a walk through ZooLights. Somewhere between the last bites of dinner and the glow of thousands of lights, David felt something he’d never felt before. The conversation was effortless, the laughter easy, and being with Brooke felt completely natural, it felt like home. As they wandered through Zoo Lights, taking it all in side by side, David knew he had fallen for her. In that quiet, glowing moment, it became clear to him, Brooke wasn’t just special, she was the one. From that night on, they were inseparable. Fast forward four and a half years, and David popped the question at their favorite spot: The Royal Palms Resort and Spa. He pulled out all the stops - rose petals, a candlelit walkway, a hidden photographer, and a private dinner under the stars complete with two dozen roses, a bottle of Veuve, and a glowing fireplace. The rest, as they say, is history.
