My road dawg, Julie, my cousin, Scotty, and I decided to go out to Chris Ardoin's CD release party for V.I.P (a zydeco band in louisiana) in Iowa, LA. I was currently living in San Angelo, TX, so I always made it a point to go to a zydeco when in town. We show up and are “parking lot partying” lol, playing the new CD and have a few adult beverages ;) when a mutual friend of ours, Jeremy, shows up with his best friend, Jordan. Needless to say, we captured each other's eye, and when we went into the dance - funny enough, the first song we danced to was "Chemistry." You can say the sparks were ignited! We spent the whole night dancing, having a great time. He was such a gentlemen, he even called me that night to make sure we made it home safely. The next day I had to return to San Angelo, but we continued talking and getting to know each other for over a month before we met up again...and as they say the rest is history.
Well as most of you know, we have been happily together for over 12 years, so I was not expecting anything lol. We went up to Broken Bow, OK, with a few other couple friends of ours to safely get out of the house during COVID-19. We had a great weekend planned with some activities, adult beverages, and karaoke of course! Well, when Saturday came, we already knew it was going to be karaoke night. The girls sang a song, and then Jordan said he was next. The music began to play, R Kelly’s Marry Me. As Jordan is singing, I am just thinking, “here he goes playing and messing with me,” because if you know Jordan, he loves joking around! Anyway, I decide I am going to mess with him right back and scream "marry me!" lol. Well, to my complete surprise, he got on one knee and popped the question! To say I was in complete shock is an understatement, lol! It was just perfect, the amount of planning and effort he put into it, it was so special!!
