It all began in October of 2017, and we never would have met had it not been for Patrick's friends. We had been going to the same gym for years but never spoke until we both ended up at the same fitness event here in Murfreesboro. He was competing, and I happened to drop by during his competition. Not knowing anyone there, I found some friendly faces from my gym to sit with. Patrick's turn was up for his big meet, and his best friend came and sat next to me. He totally hyped him up, and that was the first time I saw my now-to-be-husband. Later that day, Patrick found me on social media and we started talking. We actually went out on our first date a few weeks later, but didn't see each other again until after Christmas. We are both sports fans, and decided to go to the College Football National Championship game in January. It was our first of many sporting events together, and the rest was history! Everything clicked. Fast forward to almost 3 years later and we are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
I want to start by saying I had no clue Patrick was going to propose to me. He kept things so cool, and I wasn't suspicious at all. We had talked about marriage enough, that I knew it would happen when it was supposed to. We planned a pretty casual date night this Saturday and I didn't see Patrick all day until he came by to pick me up. We grabbed a low-key dinner at the Grilled Cheeserie in Nashville, and then went over to my favorite desert spot. While we were there, he got a phone call from a guy saying he had Titans tickets for us to pick up for the next day. We were already downtown, so Patrick asked if we could meet this guy near the pedestrian bridge to pick up these tickets. On our way downtown, I asked if I could sit in the car, completely clueless. He asked if I would walk with him since it was so nice outside that night, and it was sweet so of course i got out of the car and started walking with him. We made our way to the top of the bridge and he slowly pulled me off to the side. Me, being again oblivious, started looking around at the skyline when all of a sudden he was on one knee. I honestly don't remember a word he said to me, but I said yes (which I also don't even remember my exact words) and his friends came out from behind the columns taking pictures to capture the moment. The proposal was perfect because it was SO us. It will forever be a night we will cherish for the rest of our lives!
