Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kaitlin Simpson and Adam Don
We're excited to share some of our favorite places to visit on the beautiful island of St. Maarten
Îlet de Pinel

Îlet de Pinel

Saint Martin

Pinel Island is a small slice of paradise on the east coast of St. Martin, facing Cul-de-Sac Bay. The large parking lot at the pier makes it easy to park and there are shuttle boats running every 30 minutes to and from the island. Pinel is one of St. Martin’s most beautiful landscapes, with its sheltered sandy spit and shallow, calm waters that are ideal for wading in with a cocktail or exploring the sea floor with a mask and snorkel. There are two restaurants that are sure to delight your tastebuds with their Caribbean specialties, local fish and, of course, lobster.

Orient Beach

Orient Beach

Avenue des Plages, Saint Martin

Orient Bay (or “Baie Orientale” in French) beach is a must-see while you’re staying on the island of St. Martin. This beach on the north-west side of the island is one of the biggest and most popular. It has been given the name “Saint-Tropez of the Caribbean”, and sports fanatics often come here for surfing and other water sports. Orient Bay beach in St. Martin is on the Atlantic Ocean side of the island, and the white sand, swept by the trade winds, stretches for almost 2 kilometers. The seaside village of Orient Bay is spread out and there are some excellent restaurants and hotels with a fantastic view of the turquoise-blue ocean. These establishments will provide you with some intensely relaxing moments and new discoveries.

Mullet Bay Beach

Sint Maarten (Dutch part)
Philipsburg

Philipsburg

Philipsburg, [no name], Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

The town of Philipsburg, a shopping mecca in the Caribbean, is bordered by a long stretch of sand. Stores, bars and restaurants are lined up alongside it, so why not relax by the turquoise waters as you take in the lively atmosphere of the Dutch capital. It is also very popular with the many cruise passengers who stop over.

Rhino Mini-Speed Boat Snorkeling Tours SXM

Rhino Mini-Speed Boat Snorkeling Tours SXM

58 Welfare Road, Cole Bay, Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

You don’t need any experience to tame this beast! Captain St. Martin’s original, one and only, multi-award winner interactive tour. Get ready for a thrill of a lifetime ride that is safe, sturdy and tons of fun on your very own Rhino Rider watercraft! Journey along St. Martin’s coastline to one of our two destinations. Snorkel at a designated snorkel destination with pristine turquoise waters or soak up at sunny Happy Bay secluded beach.

Parotte Ville Bird Park

Parotte Ville Bird Park

Philipsburg, Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

Parrot ville bird park is an enclosure of exotic birds located inland in Phillipsburg. This is one of Adam and my favorite places to visit when we go to the island. The birds are beautiful and you get an up close experience while feeding them in the enclosure. Parotte Ville opens at 9:30 am we recommend going early as it is cooler in the morning hours. *If you are an animal lover, don’t miss Parrot Ville, where for $10 per person (cash only) you can spend as long as you want surrounded by brightly colored tropical birds like parrots, parakeets and conures. If you’re lucky, you may even get to visit their toucan, who is kept in a separate enclosure. Admission includes a large cup of birdseed and the birds are very tame and will fly up to take the food from you – they may even land on your arm or head!

Maho Beach

Maho Beach

Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

It’s a must see during your stay! Maho Beach, which is world-famous for its location at the very end of Princess Juliana International Airport's runway, is one of the most unusual beaches on the island of St. Martin. It’s a delight for tourists who love watching planes take off and land just above their heads. On Maho Beach, you can unroll your beach towel and take a dip in the sparkling turquoise waters, but the main attraction is the thrill you feel waiting for the next jet to fly over your head as the sand flurries around you. It’s important to follow the safety instructions and be responsible in order to be able to enjoy this experience without putting yourself in danger.

J.N. Jewelers

J.N. Jewelers

8 Cinnamon Grove, Lowlands, Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

J.N. Jewelers located in Maho Village is a real gem! (no pun intended) Ravi has been Adams family Jeweler for over 30 years. Ravi always gets us the best deals and rolls out the "red carpet" for us when we come to see him and his team every year. There are 3 J.N. Jewelers store fronts in Maho village. Surprisingly they reside doors down from one another. Last June Adam purchased my engagement ring at J.N. Jewelers and it was uniquely designed, made, and fitted to my finger within 3 days. We have referred many people to J.N. Jewelers while staying on the island and most recently we referred a couple in December of 2024. Ravi was able to offer them the lowest prices and was even able to locate a unique style and sized Rolex watch that they inquired about while there. They were very pleased with their purchases and thankful for our recommendation. *If you make it to see Ravi, tell him we sent you!

Maho

Maho

Maho, Sint Maarten, Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

Nestled on the southwestern coast of St. Maarten, Maho is a vibrant destination that offers more than just stunning beaches and thrilling airplane landings. This lively area is a food lover's dream, boasting a diverse culinary scene that ranges from casual beachside eateries to upscale dining experiences. Whether you're craving fresh seafood, authentic French cuisine, or mouthwatering Italian dishes, Maho has something to satisfy every palate. The atmosphere is as inviting as the food, with many restaurants offering breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the iconic Maho Beach.
