LaToya Chapman and Jafes Neal met around 1988. Jafes attended New Hope Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio, the same church that LaToya's grandmother, Alice Chapman (MeMe) attended. LaToya spent almost every weekend with MeMe and through visiting New Hope she developed a "secret crush" on Jafes. Unbeknownst to LaToya, Jafes also had a "secret crush" on her. Neither one of them ever spoke on or acted on their crush. Fast forward to 2017....through FaceBook the two got reacquainted. Although it was only a "Hello! How are you", "Happy Holiday" or "We have to catch up sometime", for TWO WHOLE YEARS. LaToya finally saw Jafes mother (Ms. Sweetie) at a church program in June 2019. When Ms. Sweetie went home she told Jafes that she saw LaToya...now what made her tell him that? Only God knows because again, no one knew the feelings that they had for each other. Later that evening Jafes slid into her DM again mentioning that his mom told him that she saw her today. He said he thought in his head, "Mama, you just don't know that she is supposed to be My Boo but she just ain't actin' right....or maybe I'm not consistent enough. LaToya immediately interjected and let him know that it was the later of the two! Stepping out of her comfort-zone, she gave him her phone number and said "The Ball Is In Your Court". The next morning LaToya woke up to a "Good Morning" text from an unknown number and grinned from ear-to-ear. Literally from that day up until now, they have never went a day without communicating with each other....no pauses, no breaks, no break-ups! June 22, 2019 is the date that their Happily Ever After began...
