He was working at the Wrangler Bar in Elk Grove and she had gone in for a girls night. After an awkward conversation about fitness, a flirty game of horseshoes, some strategic planning on her part and a couple trips back to the bar she asked him for his number. After a few texts and run-ins later, they went on their first date. History had only just begun. Shenanigans may have parted them, life brought them back for forever!

He was working off and on in San Jose. During his time in San Jose she would come stay so they could explore surrounding areas. One of their favorites turned out to be Santa Cruz boardwalk and wharf. On a random day trip, he asked a random couple to take a video and rather confused she went along with it anyway. He removed his hat and asked to get pizza?! Just kidding, he asked her to MARRY HIM!

This date is something extra special. On June 27, 1970 Marcella Kominek and Leland Northey got married. They spent 45 plus wonderful years together. They had 5 daughters, 11 grand kids, a great grandson and a God daughter. They had a love like no one elses! They danced like no one was watching. Their home was the common place family and friends gathered, even unannounced. The two of them always felt like home whether you were family, friend, neighbor or even a stranger. The last time the family could be there was on their 45th wedding anniversary, and it was a wonderful gathering. With the blessings from Marce and Lee’s daughters, the celebration of love and their 50th anniversary of marriage will be cherished with their family at their God Daughter’s wedding.

I think by now we are all aware that the world is in disarray due to the Coronavirus. We want to assure you that we are aware and paying close attention to the world events. As of now we are going to ride this out and pray that our plan to wed on the 27th of June will come to fruitions! As of now we have a back up plan in mind to change the location. We totally understand that if you cannot make the new location, do not feel comfortable, or just simply cannot make it... we understand. We will provide masks at the ceremony and will have plenty of hand sanitizer on hand! We have extra tables and chairs to keep people apart. We want to share this with as many people as possible, but understand the coronavirus is not helping that wish! If the location has changed, notice will be sent. We love you alm and cant wait to celebrate our love! Please understand that the decisons we have to make are very difficult and we are unable to accomadate everyone.
