Drew and Simone met through one of the top match-making classes at Lake Orion High School, Television Production Workshop. While they didn't become close during most of the school year, Simone referred to Drew as "cute guy Drew" to her friends who somehow didn't think he existed. Luckily she was able to prove them wrong when he asked her to his senior prom. Funnily enough, someone had beaten him to the question and asked Simone earlier in the day. In a weird and wild twist of events, Simone rejected the first promposal by saying she already had a date and his name was Drew. Thankfully, that ended up being true! Almost 9 years later they've gone through long distance in college, started their careers in Grand Rapids, and moved to Midland together adding the cutest little dog to their small family.

A widely anticipated proposal, Drew absolutely nailed it. Simone & Drew had planned an ice skating date in Detroit at the Campus Martius rink in November, unfortunately a tumble down the stairs left Simone unable to skate. The romantic evening was rescheduled for Christmas Eve eve - December 23rd. They got all dressed up including Simone's favorite green faux fur jacket. It was time to hit the ice. After a few circles around the rink, Drew started to push Simone into the middle. She was certainly confused and almost fell over but to her surprise Drew held her hands, got down on one knee, and pulled out the most beautiful ring she'd ever seen. Above them, on the big screen appeared the words "Simone Will You Marry Me?". Drew asked Simone to spend the rest of their lives together and through happy tears she said yes! The surprises weren't over! There was a very talented photographer there who captured the entire thing and not only were there beautiful photos but all of their friends were there to celebrate. It was the perfect romantic winter evening and just in time for the holidays to share the exciting news with family!
